FEED 5,000 – EVANGELISM IN AFRICA
- A) EHC Angola: One of the gospel outreach teams in Lunda Sul Province has faced severe persecution, resulting in the loss of life. May the Lord comfort the team members and strengthen their resolve to boldly proclaim the Gospel amidst opposition. Pray that the Lord will also restrain the evil acts of those who oppose them.
- B) EHC Eswatini: The country continues to suffer from high unemployment. Many young people who were unable to find jobs turned to drugs for comfort. Pray for their economic improvement and more job opportunities. May the power of the Gospel transform the unemployed, helping them to rely on the true God. The team is currently actively involved in gospel ministry among primary school children, guiding them to know the Saviour so they may contribute to the church and society in the future.
- C) EHC Rwanda: Even though many churches in the country are in a state of shutdown, the team continues to proclaim the Gospel, lead people to Christ, and disciple believers, proving that God’s word is not bound. Through the Rwanda MarginsMinistry, the chapter also supports children with disabilities from disadvantaged families who face difficulties enrolling in school. May God have mercy and provide life skills and His abundant love and grace to the helpless and needy.
CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN SINGAPORE (CCIS) FUNDRAISING AND PROGRAMME PLANNING
The risen Saviour Jesus gave the Great Commission before He ascended to heaven, instructing His disciples to spread the Gospel from near to far and to all people. It is an honour for the organizing committee to proclaim the salvation of Jesus on Orchard Road every year, and this year is no exception. The committee is fully committed to fulfilling the Lord’s mandate. We are especially thankful for the years of partnership, generous sponsorship, and support from churches and fellow believers. A fundraising dinner appeal letter for the 09 September (Tuesday) event has been sent, and we hope for enthusiastic responses from church leaders and members. Your prayers are much appreciated. On the programming front, discussions with overseas groups are underway, and the interactive gospel media zone is being explored. All these efforts aim toward a single goal: to seize the opportunity during the Christmas season to proclaim the good news, and through the unity of churches and believers, we can present to the world the only Christmas gift that satisfies the soul - Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
REFORMED BIBLE COLLEGE IN NORTHERN MYANMAR: CHRIST’S LIGHT IN THE COMMUNITY
Myanmar’s unique geography frequently exposes it to natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, and typhoons. The magnitude 7.9 earthquake in late March worsened an already dire humanitarian crisis in a country ravaged by civil war. Collapsed homes, injured residents, and post-disaster resettlement all need international assistance. The Reformed Bible College in Northern Myanmar has been active in showing Christ’s love. Under the leadership of their principal, Rev. Dr. Mei Rong Xiang, the faculty and students formed 28 teams to visit families every Saturday for evangelism and discipleship. They also go to hospitals to distribute donations, gifts, and gospel tracts to earthquake victims, and sometimes purchase medicine for them. All disaster relief donations received are used for the victims. The college also ministers to the local Chinese community, running two Sunday discipleship groups for children and youth from 9am to 12 noon. Another of their core missions is to evangelize the Burmese people. Pray for God’s provision to cover the cost of printing Burmese language tracts. May His salvation reach the many Burmese who suffer from disasters and hardships. Please pray for them.
“GOOD NEWS” - EVANGELISTIC TOOLS FOR SENIORS AND CHILDREN
It is widely known that evangelizing the elderly and children requires considerable wisdom, such as explaining sin, the way of salvation, Jesus’ atonement for our sins, and more. To meet this need, a gospel booklet with vivid illustrations and simple text was launched in 2002, available in both children's and senior editions. To date, 90,000 copies have been published. Using lively illustrations and concise writing, the booklets clearly convey the gospel message and the new life after believing, making it easy to understand. It is widely praised and serves as an excellent evangelistic aid for both age groups. A couple from Paya Lebar Methodist Church has visited our bookroom twice to purchase large quantities and encouraged every of their small group members to carry one to share the Gospel anytime. May the Lord bless their efforts to win souls. We hope more churches and believers will make good use of this resource to help the elderly and children understand the Good News of salvation and receive eternal life.
EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP BREAKTHROUGHS IN CREATIVE ACCESS REGIONS
EHC in Country M: Recent constitutional amendments have emboldened those hostile to the Gospel, making them more arrogant and unrestrained. Pray for God’s mighty hand to protect the coworkers, and that the planned summer outreach and ministries proceed as scheduled. May all hindrances from the evil one be removed and hearts turned to Christ.
EHC in Country H: The government indirectly imposes heavy taxes on churches, unlike its treatment of other religious groups. This has caused fear among believers, and church activities are now under strict surveillance. Pray for wisdom for church leaders and members to respond wisely and to experience the peace of Christ amid adversity. Pray for them to not yield to evil but become bolder in proclaiming the Gospel.
EHC in Country P: Under God’s guidance, the team was granted a rare opportunity to hold a gospel seminar at a school near the border. Though challenging, the trip was greatly blessed, with the Holy Spirit moving in the enthusiastic and energetic students. Please pray for the follow-up work, that the campus ministry will have lasting impact and reach more students whose hearts are open to God.
"GOD LOVES THE WORLD" / "DO YOU KNOW?" - LOVE FROM HEAVEN
The first tract was written by Elder Samuel Ching. It explains how God’s creation of the universe reveals His love for humanity. Although people enjoy what God has created, they do not believe in the Creator and indulge in sin, thus falling short of His glory. This tract guides people to understand God's salvation and receive the eternal life He offers. The second tract is a richly illustrated gospel tract with colourful illustrations and simple, easy-to-understand language. it clearly explains how sin separates people from God, yet God loves the world and sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to bear the punishment in place of sinners. Through His blood and sacrifice, and resurrection on the third day, anyone who accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior will have their sins forgiven and receive God’s salvation. This combo tract will be printed across the APAC region. May the Lord use it mightily.
"BLESSINGS AND CURSES" / "LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUTH" - REFLECTING ON GOD'S WORD
The first book, written by Bro. Silas Wu, is a systematic discussion of the spiritual meanings of “blessing” and “curse,” based on his many years of pastoral experience. It is an expanded version of one of his sermons, enriched through deep reflection and detailed interpretation of relevant Bible verses and events. The second book by Dr. James Yu focuses on the idea that a well-lived youth brings a regret-free and fulfilling old age. To live well during youth, one must first learn to discern right from wrong, choose friends wisely, flee youthful lusts, and form correct values by studying and reflecting on God’s word, thus walking in God’s will. These two books are suitable for believers interested in applying biblical truth to life. Pray for the Lord to use them.
"SOURCE OF BLESSINGS" / "THE JOURNEY OF GRACE" - A LIFE WITH JESUS
The first book, written by Deacon Wu Zhemin, is a collection of sermons roughly divided into four categories: knowing Jesus, gospel truth, a life of faith, and biblical characters. The second book, written by Teacher Li Jinghang, reflects the author’s grace-filled life experiences, especially his encounters with God’s presence amid cruel reality and through the valley of the shadow of death. Pray for these two books to bring spiritual insight and encouragement to readers. May the Lord use them in His work.
"EVERYONE MUST READ" / "7 QUESTIONS OF LIFE" - LET JESUS ANSWER LIFE’S BIG QUESTIONS
The first book was written by Rev. Samuel Lamb and is a collection of testimonies from world-renowned figures and leading scientists who were devoted Christians. It mentions Morse, Edison, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and Gen. Chang Hsueh-liang. The second book by Ford of Jabbock offers preliminary insights to life’s perplexities and doubts from a Christian perspective. Topics include: Why is life so hard? Why am I not successful? Why is fate unfair to me? How can I live a grounded and secure life? Both books are excellent tools for evangelism and are recommended for purchase as gifts for non-believer family and friends.
" LOVE ON ITS KNEES" / "THE SERVANT OF GOD, PART 2" - PRAYER AND MINISTRY
The first book, written by Rev. Dr. Dick Eastman, provides readers with several principles to help them hold fast to God’s Word as a treasury for prayers, becoming spiritually empowered in their personal prayer life. The second book, written by Elder Samuel Ching, takes a close look at what it means to be a servant of God through the lens of 2 Corinthians. It explores how one can experience and know Christ concretely in every situation, be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, and serve God according to His will, demonstrating a life of ministry that influences others through one’s own life. Pray for the Lord to use them in His ministries.
