FEED 5,000 – EVANGELISM IN AFRICA
- A) EHC Togo: Togo entered a state of emergency because of terrorist activities in the north, and evangelistic work had to be halted for some time as a result. After the emergency state was lifted this year, we look forward to more support from the churches towards the resumed ministry. We pray for God to open doors to hearts and touch many with the grace of salvation and for their director and co-workers to prepare plans and goals for home-to home outreach with His divine wisdom.
- B) EHC Angola: Aside from evangelism, the team also engages in church planting. One of the churches they planted recently ran into significant hardship. Please pray for the Lord’s provision to enable them to flourish the church. Pray also for spiritual inspiration and strength upon the church leaders as they minister to the flock and oversee the ministry.
- C) EHC Côte d'Ivoire: The team has been working with several churches from Doropo in the north to conduct evangelistic outreach at public places and home-to-home. Pray for the mighty hand of God to shield them from harm and for the Holy Spirit to lead many to repentance before Christ and add greatly to the numbers of the saved.
CCIS REFLECTIONS AND VISION
In this new year, the committee continues to hold on to the evangelistic commitment of “the trust has been committed to me” (1 Cor 9:17) in preparing for the ministry in 2024 and putting in extra effort to address the shortcomings in 2023’s event. While the fundraising in 2023 did not reach our budget, it was nevertheless enough to meet the basic expenses. Thanks be to God! We hope for the continued support of churches and brethren towards the operating costs and the unpaid arrears from the past year. The committee had been devoted to the ministry for many years now and hopes to recruit more new blood to succeed their work to prosper the Gospel with one heart.
EVEN IN TURBULENT TIMES, THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST IS AN UNWAVERING HOPE
Death entered our world through sin and threatened everyone with its poisonous sting. Jesus came to die for sinners, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day, bringing down the power of sin and death. All who believed in Him shall be resurrected like Him in future. This is the hope of resurrection that removes our fear of death. We strongly recommend you consider using the three tracts here to convey this Good News to those who live in fear of the unknown afterlife. Introduce them to Christ so they can find eternal life for their souls in Him, and no longer fear death because of this beautiful hope.
A SUMMARY OF SEHC TRACTS USED BY CHURCHES AND BRETHREN IN 2023
More than 480,000 tracts were purchased and used by churches and brethren in 2023, making an average of 40,000 tracts being distributed monthly. Thanks be to God. We hope churches and brethren would sustain this momentum in 2024 and use our tracts to bring more numbers of the saved to their churches. The fields are still ripe with plentiful harvest, which was why SEHC commenced the seventh round of OIKOS outreach in the second half of 2023. We want to take hold of the remaining daylight to let every household on our island hear the Gospel. Our volunteers went from door-to-door in different estates to give out tracts and conduct personalised sharing with those who were receptive. Like fishermen casting nets in deep waters, they were rewarded with encouraging harvests on multiple occasions, demonstrating the effectiveness of tract evangelism. Let us all do our parts on the harvest field and spread the Gospel to every place in Singapore until it reaches the last home.

“LEAVING IN THREE STEPS” AND “LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUTH” – GUIDING LIFE WITH BIBLICAL TRUTH
Bro. Musheng wrote the first book which is divided into three sections: Leaving the place of idol worship, leaving the Egypt of secular living, and living the old self and putting it to death. A Christian can only live a spiritually fruitful life by following God’s will, so how we live in church is also how we ought to live our daily lives. The latter book by Dr. James Yu explores the growing up process of today’s youth. The author emphasizes that discernment must be practiced when choosing who we befriend, and the word of God must form the foundation of our values. Only then can we bear spiritual fruit that are edifying to ourselves and others.
“THE WAY TO A HAPPY LIFE” AND “HAPPY FAMILY GUIDEBOOK” – BACK TO THE BASICS
The first book contains a correspondence course written by the late Rev. Dr. Johnny Lee and comprises 4 lessons that systematically explains the basics of biblical truth in plain language. This course will help you to understand the fundaments of the Bible and discover joyful and abundant life. The latter book was co-written by a group of co-workers, with its focus on guiding one and one’s children in harmonious family life using the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as the role model. This family-oriented book contains colourful illustrations that help readers to understand the content more easily. Please pray for their use in God’s work.
“60 PRAYER ILLUSTRATIONS” AND “THE WAY OF LIFE” – PRAYER AND LIVING
The first book is a collection of 60 prayer illustrations written by Elder Samuel Ching and is aimed at helping new believers and seasoned Christians alike to learn how to pray effectively. We need to pray regularly, spontaneously, and ceaselessly if we hope to become a prayerful and blessed servant of God. The latter book by Dr. James Yu is a simplified outline of the Gospel of John that hopes to let readers understand the core essence of the Gospel of John. Please pray for their use.
